INTRODUCING THE ALPHA PRIME RACING WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE

ABOUT THE INITIATIVE

Alpha Prime Racing (APR), in partnership with the Urban Affairs Coalition (UAC) and Team Racing-2-Education (R2E), today announced the launch of the Alpha Prime Racing Workforce Development Initiative, a national workforce development platform designed to create meaningful pathways into motorsports through education, mentorship, hands-on experience, and career exposure.

The initiative will provide students and young adults with immersive experiences across race team operations, engineering, mechanics, logistics, marketing, content production, business operations, and event management throughout the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season.

The program will activate across ten race markets this summer, including Pocono, San Diego, Sonoma, Chicago, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Iowa, Daytona, Darlington, and St. Louis providing participants with direct exposure to professional motorsports both at Alpha Prime Racing’s headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina and at NASCAR race weekends across the country.

The initiative combines Alpha Prime Racing’s national motorsports platform with Urban Affairs Coalition’s long-standing leadership in workforce development, education, and community engagement to create opportunities for individuals who may not traditionally see motorsports as an accessible career path.

FROM TEAM PRES. JUSAN HAMILTON

“The future of motorsports depends on developing talent both on and off the racetrack,” said Jusan Hamilton, President of Alpha Prime Racing. “Urban Affairs Coalition and Alpha Prime Racing share a belief that exposure creates opportunity. Through this partnership, we’re using NASCAR as a platform to introduce young people to careers in engineering, mechanics, operations, logistics, marketing, content creation, and leadership. This initiative is about creating access and building pathways that can impact lives long after race day.”

A central figure in the initiative is Alpha Prime Racing driver Lavar Scott, whose journey from the Philadelphia area to the NASCAR national stage embodies the mission of the program. Scott’s No. 45 Urban Affairs Coalition (UAC) Chevrolet will serve as a visible ambassador for the initiative throughout the summer, carrying the message of opportunity, workforce development, and career exploration into communities across the country.

LAVAR SCOTT AND URBAN AFFAIRS COALITION

“Lavar’s story represents exactly why this initiative matters,” Hamilton added. “His journey demonstrates what can happen when talent, mentorship, and opportunity intersect. We want young people to see what is possible and understand that there are countless opportunities within this industry beyond what they see on television.”

The Workforce Development Initiative is designed to provide participants with hands-on shop immersion, mentorship from industry professionals, race weekend experiences, and exposure to career opportunities throughout the motorsports ecosystem.

“When young people can see someone who comes from a similar background succeeding at the highest levels of competition, it changes what they believe is possible for themselves,” said Lavar Scott. “This initiative is about opening doors, creating opportunities, and helping the next generation discover careers and pathways they may never have known existed.”

Urban Affairs Coalition President Arun Prabhakaran believes the partnership demonstrates the power of combining community-focused workforce development with professional sports platforms.

“This partnership represents an opportunity to connect education, workforce development, and professional sports in a meaningful way,” said Prabhakaran. “Together, Alpha Prime Racing and Urban Affairs Coalition are creating pathways that expose young people who dream of working In motorsports to the industry. It creates career exposure to the vast network of motorsport-related industries who are looking for talent. This type of opportunity drives relationships and experiences that impact careers and lives well beyond a race weekend.”

Throughout the summer, the initiative will feature a dedicated storytelling and content series highlighting participant experiences, mentor relationships, career exposure opportunities, and behind-the-scenes access to professional motorsports.

Program leaders also intend to track measurable outcomes including participant engagement, mentorship opportunities, market activations, career exposure experiences, and workforce development impact as the initiative continues to grow.
